cheap phones

The idea here is that you're going to work at it. You may spend time working with tech support. You may spend time, lots of time, looking on Amazon and Walmart. What you generally will not do is spend time searching for cheap phones on Google. This is a waste of time. For instance right now in 2022 people are saying that cheap phones are anything under $500. The cheap phones we're talking about max out at 200 dollars.

One way to get an okay cheap phone is to go to Walmart and buy a straight talk phone that cost $60 to $100. I have a 100% success rate at doing this. Now you'll see on the internet lots of people complaining, But I have not had a bad experience buying an in-store phone. But once again, these are not the cheap phones I'm talking about. What we're talking about here is getting a cheap phone like an iPhone SE or a pixel 2 XL. Generally these aren't considered to be cheap phones but you can find them cheap on Walmart and Amazon if you spend lots of time and stay at it.

what is your time worth? The seconds of your life are ticking away. God is recording everything and you're going to be judged by some sort of vague rules set up in the Bible. Much of it is in parable format and basically the typical human cannot figure it out. So my time is generally spent trying to love God and treat other people the way I want to be treated. Jesus told lots of very scary parables, so I try not to freak out too much and spend time looking for phones.

 Here's what I have done:

  • Don't buy a current year phone
  • Don't buy used phones
  • Only by brand new phones from previous years
  • Do some research on the phone performance, Google phone performance
  • Use Amazon and Walmart.
  • I use straight talk, use a cheap prepaid service.
  • I don't use auto pay for phone plans.
  • Do a variety of different search strings on Amazon and Walmart looking for phones.
    • Straight talk
    • Moto g stylus
    • Add max filter, $200
    • 128 gb phones
    • (Mix up search terms)

I'm currently using a pixel 2 XL. This phone originally listed for $950. I paid $160, brand new but 3 years old. This is not typical, it took months to find it. Actually it turned up by accident, I was looking for a Samsung or Motorola. This was from Amazon.

Before this I had a moto G6. It was a pretty good phone. And I got it discounted by buying it new but from a previous year. It was a straight talk phone, so it was partly discounted through straight talk from Walmart.

Some people get phones at Best buy, but my experience is their phone plans are a hassle. They want you to sign up for auto pay or a contract. My experience was that their unlocked phones are more expensive.

Lots of people use eBay, it's not for me.
