Less is more

When it comes to listening to the news less really is more. You need enough to get a basic idea, but all the details are lies and misinformation. You're way ahead to get a basic idea and then just sort of fill in the rest with common sense. If you listen to the details you aren't getting anything useful other than if you want to know what the whole story is not. In other words you listen to those details and then say well I know that's not true so what else might be true. Of course at that point you're probably trying to fill in detailed information that isn't worthwhile anyway. Think about it, when was the last time you saw some news that had an immediate direct impact on you? Well masks, for one. But guess what, I figured out the mask thing by going to the grocery store and seeing everyone had on masks. Also there was a big sign at the door that said masks required. That didn't take the news, it just took going to the grocery store.

Now occasionally you'll get caught by surprise. Someone will give you a real weird look and say you mean you don't realize that blah blah blah has just happened?? But from my experience that's very rare.
