 The future is either completely fixed or largely fixed. There's different thoughts on how the future works. One thought is it's completely random. This is probably more or less the scientific view that says there is no spirit world there is simply us and matter and time and gravity. In the physical world that's actually all there is, time, matter and gravity. Energy is simply the result of gravity having an effect on matter over time. But in reality the future is either completely fixed or there's a framework that cannot be altered of the future. If you look at the events that were prophesied in the book of Psalms about Jesus crucifixion it is simply impossible that God controlled events close enough in the future to bring about the prophecy. In other words to some degree the events had already occurred before the prophecy. An extreme view of this is that everything is already occurred and that we're simply passing through time somehow playing this very sort of incredible video game or movie. Of course this extreme view would imply that you have no choices or that it's sort of like a reality dream where you have minimal choices but you can't really control the eventual outcome of anything only some of your responses. If it works this way then God could easily control where everything's headed while your actions would still have some meaningful consequence on judgment Day. In other words your book of works and the book of Life would not be completely filled out at this point God would be just sort of filling in the blanks. As the video plays.
