American highway coincidences

Here are a couple of typical coincidences that seem to happen all too frequently. for this discussion the coincidences will always involve three vehicles.

One coincidence occurs on divided highways with multiple Lanes traveling each direction. the speeds on these roads vary from 65 mph to 80 mph.

The other coincidence occurs on two lane highways with cars traveling in opposite directions. In America it seems that in these situations 70 mph is usually the maximum speed for two lane roads.

Let's cover the latter coincidence first. You're driving on a two-lane road and there is a car up ahead of you in the distance. You are gaining on this car and you realize that at some point you're going to want to pass. There are no cars going the opposite direction. Then as you approach the rear of the car going your direction, and you're preparing to pull out, a car magically appears in the oncoming Lane requiring you to slow down and wait for them to pass. The car going the opposite direction passes, then you pull around and pass the car going your direction. You drive some significant distance without an encountering any other cars.

Now The coincidence where all three cars are going the same direction. You are coming up behind a car that you are going to want to pass by pulling into the left lane, which is also going the same direction. But as you approach the rear of that car a third car comes up behind you traveling much faster and pulls into the left lane requiring you to step on the brakes and slow down some behind the car in front of you. The third car goes past, and then you pull out into the left lane and pull around the car that was in front of you. Once again you encounter no other cars for quite some time.

Now if this happened every single time there were three cars anywhere in sight your brain would say wow there is something wrong with this. But I would say this happens approximately 20% of the time. And then throw in some randomization and it's basically impossible to tell exactly when it's going to happen. But my point here is that it happens way more than would randomly occur. It just appears random.

Here is the explanation being offered in this blog. We are all in a giant practically infinite simulation being put on by an infinite being called God. God is programming all this stuff in to see how we respond. Will we become frustrated and cut other people off? Will we take unreasonable risks possibly even killing other people? Or become frustrated and curse under our breath. All good questions that God wants answered. Notice this as you drive out on the highways. Where the traffic is relatively light. This is the situation that we're discussing here, not City driving, and not moderately heavy driving. But open highway driving. There are long stretches when there are no other cars, and still this seems to happen about 20% of the time. We're all being tested, judgment day is going to be terrifying.
