dream theory

This dream theory is based on the idea that our brains have excess capacity. But somehow our brains need to be busy even when we're asleep. So there's a certain amount of time where we go through these different sleep activities but at some point it becomes time to dream or wake up. The longer you sleep the more dreams you have.

In the Bible dreams always seem to have a reason. But most of my dreams seem like nonsense. They aren't giant golden statues, or all this stuff bowing down to me, or warnings about where to run away to or what to avoid. They aren't dreams that seem to depict events in other people's lives. They just seem like nonsense.

So dreams can be incredibly important, but mine never have been. They didn't tell me which side of the bed to get up on. They didn't tell me what directions I should take in life. Who I should marry what college I should go to. What jobs I should accept. A lot of times they don't even really seem related to my life at all.

So with this theory we just have all this excess thinking capability so God plugs some dreams in to sort of fill in activities that we can think about that never really happened.

There are dreams where spiritual forces get involved. But generally they're just causing trouble. It doesn't really warn me about some problem the next day. They're just evil forces messing up my dreams. Then there's dreams where people actually get involved from real life. But in every case I've ever had that happen I already knew the situation with that person. Seeing them in the dream didn't tell me anything new.
