how I stayed healthy
Jesus kept me healthy. That's the most important factor in my health was that Jesus just wanted me healthy for some reason. If Jesus doesn't want you healthy there is nothing you can do about it.
My family has a history of reasonably good health. Generally my family has not gotten heart disease or cancer. So you could say well you got good genetics for the most part.
But this is probably the most critical point of this blog entry, my wife dealt with the finances. She pleaded with me when we first got married to let her deal with the money. After 30 years of marriage she became somewhat mentally unstable, got kidney disease, divorced me, and died. I would suggest to you that at least in small part it was due to all the stress she was under from the finances. I never spent any money in our relationship. I know that sounds crazy in America. I did origami for a hobby and I took magazine paper and cut it into squares so I didn't even have to buy origami paper. If we needed any tools in the garage I would say, these are the tools we need, and I would get very inexpensive ones, sometimes she would put them back and get the more expensive ones so that we could get stuff done more quickly even though I was going to be using them. She bought everything. I did put gas in my car and stuff like that but that was all in the budget because I had to go to work. On a rare occasion I would go out to lunch, but over my career it averaged less than one time per year. I could see that the money was stressful, but she wanted to do it and she never asked me to even look at it one time.
