killing yourself
This is also known as suicide or euthanasia.
So in general it's a very bad idea, there's a place in the Bible where a guy gets injured in battle and has an assistant kill him because he's fatally wounded. There are a couple of other suicides, Samson who apparently gets authorization from straight from God, in the New testament Judas Iscariot. And I think there's one or two other places, but generally it is frowned upon or not done at all. There are places where kings are injured mortally wounded and they just hang in there till they die a natural death. So suicide is not prevalent in the Bible at all. When you get old you're expected just to get old and God will come get you eventually. And the scenarios that you hear about very much it sounds like God says something like he grew old and was gathered back to his people and was buried with his ancestors or something like that. So death is viewed as the next phase of life.
Generally people that commit suicide nowadays either are grieving or are mentally ill or possibly depressed. From my understanding in the Bible people also get demon possessed, in modern times and this can lead to suicide. People that suffer emotional or mental trauma May commit suicide. If a person gets sick and is in pain for a long time or just an intense pain and it doesn't appear anybody's doing anything about it, then people will sometimes kill themselves. In in the Bible it appears people just don't do that when they're under a long-term illness, they just ride it out till they die.
It isn't 100% clear, but suicide is not a good option. One of the reasons that governments opt to let people kill themselves is they don't know how to deal with people that have demons or people that have tremendous energy abnormalities. When the medical industry and counselors and therapists get around this kind of super negative energy, that people are spewing out, it starts jumping on everybody and they start thinking gee maybe suicide's a good option for this person. One of the first options that the medical industry uses is drugs. They turn to pharmaceuticals to try to control your psychic or demonic energy. This actually can help, although it's really a mask or more or less ignorant response to a spiritual problem. So science currently doesn't have any concept of spirituality, so they just turned to physical stuff that they can measure somewhere with brain waves or something. They also use the term behavioral drugs. The thought is if your behavior is okay, then you are okay.
Interesting in the Bible that Jesus gave power to his 12 apostles over all demons and sickness and they went out and we're having 100% success until they ran into this little kid. The little kid had a demon that they could not get God to cast out. So they bring the little kid to Jesus. At first Jesus acted someone indignant towards his apostles, but then lightens up some and says well you're going to have to use prayer and fasting on this kind of demon. So if you think that through what it says to me is Jesus gave them power, but not like ultimate super powers. In a video game it would be like if you have super powers to cast out demons that go from 0 to 100 well Jesus had like 10,000. I mean he would never run out of these super powers. So he gives the apostles maybe like a 95. Well 95 just isn't good enough to knock out that 5% of the super evil demons. But it says they had powers to get rid of all of this stuff I think. So they were going to have to go the extra mile and use prayer and fasting. Fasting means you don't eat food. Fasting takes time it could be one or several days. There's one point in the New testament where Paul was on a ship that eventually crashed and they were in a massive storm which lasted 14 days. Paul said you haven't eaten in 14 days so let's all eat a little bit of food and then make a dash for the shore. So that's the longest fasting I'm aware of oh, Elijah went 40 days and 40 nights and Jesus went 40 days and 40 nights without eating, but those are pretty much supernatural events anybody else would be dead. Generally in this kind of scenario you would expect 1 to 3 days of fasting with fairly fervent prayer to be enough to cast out the demon. Still this would be somewhat disconcerting because what they had been doing was just laying hands on people and saying get out you demon in Jesus name.
So we shouldn't kill ourselves. Governments should not be killing people on request. People that are mentally ill should not be allowed to request euthanasia, because after all they are mentally ill. When you're mentally ill that implies that you're operating at a decreased mental capacity at which you shouldn't be making any kind of important decision in your life, like ending it. But when the psychiatric ward is full and when there's just too many insane people walking around and people start going gee I feel insane would somebody kill me, then the government's like yeah I guess we can do that.
Now from my experience here's the real bummer. You can pray like crazy and you may not be able to get rid of whatever psychiatric problem somebody has. You may pray for 20 years you may beg you may plead you may cry you may do all that kind of stuff in the throne room of God running around with your hair on fire and you still can't get rid of whatever their problem is. So just bluntly I don't really have an answer, pray, struggle, cry, moan, groan, read the Bible. At the end of the day everybody will die of natural causes.
Read James chapter 5 in the Bible and carefully look at anointing. This was done in the Old testament and in the New testament. This will help in some circumstances but it isn't some sort of magical solution. I've seen people that anointed hundreds of times and still died a horrible death. However they did not commit suicide.
