dipstick difficult to read
When the dipstick it's pulled out of the engine it has little empty spots that obscure where the oil level is.
One time it read normal, not sure why.
Going to wipe it off and spray it with silicone spray then take another reading. Maybe the coat of lubricant will help the oil stick evenly.
Or maybe the silicone won't spray on evenly, which means something.
Bad dipstick? It looks fine.
Next day:
Follow up on silicone spray. That was a bad idea. It didn't hurt anything but it looked exactly the same very difficult to read.
It seemed like if the car hasn't been running for a while and you take the dipstick out and read it the very first time, then it looks normal. The oil is clearly seen on the dipstick. Once you put the dipstick back in and drag it back out, oil is all up and down the stick. Never seen a dipstick do this before.
