downfall of the current Internet

 Lots of people including me have whined about this, that the internet is not the repository of all human knowledge. And it's not a place where you can get information freely that basically is out there but you can't get it all in one simple query. My classic example is a list of all billionaires. Now if you want a list of all the physical elements there's probably zillions of those lists with great detail included. And there are at least two lists of the billionaires that exist but they're copyrighted and the people that hold those copyrights spend a whole bunch of money compiling the list of billionaires and getting it halfway accurate so there's no way they're going to release that to the public. Actually one of them used to put the thing out in a file but in 2021 they discontinued that free copy. So there's lots of other stuff like that though now some stuff is available on Wikipedia, but I'm finding that just the vast majority of even science websites or any kind of website that can have useful information on it it's just buried under ads and video ads picture ads and pop-ups and things just gone completely berserka with that kind of stuff. It's gotten so bad that if I get a pop-up video I just hit the back button immediately and get away from that page. So the internet is basically a place trying to sell you stuff or social media stuff like that. I read an article about people searching for meaning on the internet and becoming frustrated or disappointed even lonely and feeling isolated because you're not going to find articles like that on the internet very much. Now if you can Wade through all the ads you may be able to find some Christian websites that tell you about Jesus and about the basic idea of us being here and being tested and how you're meeting needs to be to help other people and love God. But if you just look for the meaning of life and stuff like that you're going to get all kinds of sort of weird things either trying to sell you therapy or something. But lists is one of my big complaints or information about different products or even historical information about the development of certain things and technology or just the development of of humanity over time. Maybe I should keep a list of all the stuff that I've tried to find on the internet that I can't. for instance one thing that's sometimes difficult to find is the historical performance of a company. Obviously all that information is out there somewhere in a computer it's just not always easy to find especially if the company is private.
